Charles III - Long Live the King! A Celebration of His Coronation
King Charles III took his place on the British throne in 2022, at the age of 73, after being the longest- serving heir apparent in the nation’s history. The royal became first in the line of succession in February 1952 at the age of 3 and honorably served his country for 70 years as he awaited his destiny. On Sept. 8, the day that his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, died at 96, Charles became the monarch of the United Kingdom. Biographer Penny Junor claimed in January 2022 that he was “dreading” his accession because it meant losing his beloved mother. In the years before her death, Queen Elizabeth slowed down, pass- ing some of her official duties to Charles and his son and heir, Prince William. Join us as we look at Charles through the years, and the years to come. This 100-page special is filled with wonderful photos, little known facts, and a glimpse into the future of the monarch.
