The Complete Story of Let It Be
On May 13, 1970, the Beatles released a documentary movie about the making of the album “Let It Be.” The film came out just a month after Paul McCartney became the first Beatle to publicly announce the breakup of the most beloved rock band of all time. The documentary almost immediately became the official story of the band’s demise. But history is about to change. A new version of what was captured during the “Let it Be” sessions, comprised of hours of additional film that was not used in the original cut, has been curated and re-edited by acclaimed director Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) and appears to show that John, Paul, George and Ringo were not always bickering during the “Let it Be” sessions. There were also many moments of laughter, joy, and camaraderie shared between the Fabs as they made music together. In other words, moments showing the Beatles being the lads that the world fell in love with and thought they knew so well.
